Solid(ish) food
Yesterday we gave Lucy her first taste of solid foods! We started with HappyBellies Organic Brown Rice Cereal - one part cereal and 4 parts milk. The cereal is more like dust though, so by “solid food”, what I mean is just a slightly more viscous liquid.
The first few spoonfuls she SHOVED in her mouth and was flipping her tongue all over trying to get it all, but then after the taste set in, she made a face as if we were trying to feed her baby food in dirty gym sock flavor. But she was a good sport and took a few tiny spoonfuls just so she could grimace and let it ooze down her chin. She wasn’t exactly refusing it, but wasn’t exactly eating it either…
Today we tried again and she was less face-turney and more like OK-I’ll-try-again-because-I’m-Lucy-and-I-can’t-turn-down-food. She loves her vitamins, so I think once she gets used to the new taste and texture, she'll be sneaking out of her crib to mix herself a late night brown rice cocktail. Can't wait to introduce fruits and veg.
Cuteness in a bib.
