My much better half and me.
I give up! I'm a-fricken-wake!!! Ugh. Typically I have at least an hour more of sleep before I get up and get ready for work, but I keep waking up around this time having to pee so badly that I toss and turn until I finally give up and run downstairs to the bathroom. JUST TO TINKLE which is the most frustrating part. Baby F, this is your mother speaking. Stop squeezing my bladder - it's not a toy. Anyway once I'm up, I'm up, so no hope for me now.
One of my favorite blogs, Dooce, posted a meme from Facebook - one that I actually haven't yet seen - about marriage, so I figured I'd pass it on. Amy C, I know it's your birthday and all, but your fans are waiting for your blog posts, so here's an idea for you eh??
What are your middle names?
My middle name is Susan; his middle name is Vincent. Susan is my mom, and before her, Susan is my great-grandfather's nine chihuahuas that he collectively named "Susan", or so I was told by my family. Knowing us, it's not a stretch. Vincent is Nat's father. OH WAIT - I changed my name on Monday! Now my middle name is Mukai. I think... I should have double checked the form.
How long have you been together?
Married for 5 1/2 months (and pregnant for 21 weeks!) Together for 5 years, but met 9 years ago.
Who asked whom out?
He gave me two tickets to a concert and then fled, so turns out I had to ask him (to take the other ticket).
How old are each of you?
I'm 27, he's 26. I'm kind of a cougar.
Whose siblings do you see the most?
Definitely his. They have little ones we can't get enough of. Hopefully someday when we actualize our dream of moving to Brooklyn, we'll get to see mine more.
Which situation is the hardest on you as a couple?
Hmm this is a toughie. I think it's our fighting style that actually gets us into the most trouble. He's quick to bring up differences and I pick my battles, so when I argue, I KNOW I'm right. I'll just leave it at that...
Did you go to the same school?
Met 9 years ago as freshmen at BU. Then he transferred, but we still kept in touch.
Are you from the same home town?
He grew up on Long Island, NY. You'd know this if you talked to him. I have a vision of him playing catch with our kids, while they have big question marks over their heads wondering why Dad is asking them to throw the bowl. I bounced back and forth on the coasts between Seattle and Boston. I really appreciate moving around a lot as a kid; it made me adaptable and confident, and opened my eyes to new kinds of people and experiences. I do not have a Boston accent, but I love them (on other people).
Who is smarter?
Nat is eons smarter. He's eons smarter than most people. He consumes information and has incredible recall, and his brain is always doing amazing things. Before bed, he likes to read every news outlet. Before bed, I like to put a pot on my head and bang it with a wooden spoon.
Who is the most sensitive?
I think he is. I'm kind of thick-skinned and mean. Not that I won't call you out something rude you say... it just won't really affect me that much. However, now that the preg hormones are here, I have to get up and leave the room during Johnson & Johnson commercials...
Where do you eat out most as a couple?
I hate that I'm blowing up this little known spot... There's this place in the North End called Ida's... It's literally downstairs in their home. The dad cooks, the mom serves, and the son and daughter bus the tables when they're around. They only have about 8 tables and are open only Thursday, Friday, and Saturday - reservation only. The food is great Italian food and the carafes of wine are cheap and delicious. We've been going there for years.
Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple?
That would require that I know some geography, so maybe this is a question for Nat. My answer: Not far enough.
Who has the craziest exes?
He never dated the people in question, but I'm going to leave this one blank for fear that some disgruntled female will be waiting outside my door tonight.
Who has the worst temper?
That would be my Italian husband.
Who does the cooking?
We often cook together, but that means Nat does all the hard stuff and I stir the bowl and lick the spoon type of thing.
Who is the neat-freak?
Organization makes me feel like there's peace in the world. I think peace to Nat is covering every surface in the apartment with clothes.
Who hogs the bed?
I fall asleep on my side of the bed and don't move a muscle until morning. Nat's goal while sleeping is to collect all of the blankets and twirl them into a house for one. And that one is not me. Getting a king-sized bed is the best thing we have ever done for our relationship. He could make sheet angels and I would never know.
Who wakes up earlier?
Me. Often angry. Like now.
Where was your first date?
Dinner at Florentine's in the North End, dessert at Mike's, and a walk along the Waterfront.
Who is more jealous?
Probably me, but really neither of us.
How long did it take to get serious?
He moved back to Boston as I was graduating BU in the spring. We moved in together in May of that year. So like, a minute?
Who eats more?
Nat packs a hefty appetite, but so do I. He eats more per sitting, but all in all in a day, I'm sure I have him beat.
Who does the laundry?
We pretty much take care of our own laundry. *LIGHTBULB* Perhaps that's why his clothes are everywhere...
Who's better with the computer?
Nat can build Web sites and I just know how to type in my credit card number and click "purchase".
Who drives when you are together?
Mostly Nat. I know my way around the city better now that I drive every day, but when it comes to who's been in less accidents and therefore should drive, it's him. He likes to criticize my driving, so he can tackle those 5-hour drives to NY alone while I snooze, suckahh.
I totally miss him while he travels - thank goodness he's coming home tonight. And look at that! I have successfully killed some time - now time to get ready for work and show up all tired and headachey and mean.

LOL, hilarious.
It's seems vaguely similar to my life :)
i'm gonna do this, but dread the "who's smarter" question b/c blergh he doesn't need a bigger head than he already has.
