35 week check-in
At week 35, Baby F has transformed from cantaloupe to honeydew, weighing in at over 5 lbs and about 18-20 inches, head to feet:
Another doctor appointment yesterday.. go figure! I feel like I’m there all the time because... I am there all the time. We determined that our little upside-down girl is still in fact upside-down. Not askew, not transverse (sideways), but completely 100% exactly in the opposite position that she should be in at this point. Let’s hope this is not a trend.
I was given another exercise to add to the mix, called “washing the floors” (was my husband somehow involved in this?) where I get down on my hands and knees in a downward dog-type position and make wax-on, wax-off movements with my hands. It’s supposed to help her un-wedge from the bottom of my uterus and allow her to turn if the feeling so moves her. Also, I’ll be making an appointment for acupuncture, which is supposedly going to help...
However my feelings are that “washing the floors”, acupuncture, and chanting aren’t going to do a damn thing. And by our conversations, I think my doctor feels the same way. She will be scheduling my C-section during the 39th week of pregnancy and will soon let me know our baby’s new due date! If miraculously she becomes vertex (the correct head-down position), then I’ll be sent home to wait for natural labor. In the meantime... Self, get ready for Baby F coming a little sooner than planned. She’ll be here sometime between June 23-30.
I’ll be watching Dexter tonight in preparation for my upcoming slicing. Who feels like the melon now??

Also, as acupuncture scares the living daylights out of me, I promise that I will bow to you in awe if you decide to go through with it. Shudder.
